Achievements are badges. They give no tokens or advantage, don't change the odds, and are never lost. A banner shows when you unlock one, and the full list is in the game: My account, "Records & achievements".

The chance of reaching a km is 0.97 ÷ its multiplier. Here's what that means for the road achievements, in a single round:
These achievements don't depend on the stake: go for them with 10 tokens, it costs less when it fails. A pothole counts as a finished round for "A hundred rounds", and the km cleared just before it counts toward "Papineau, no crash".
"Six figures", "The million" and "Rebuild" only count tokens won by playing: purchased tokens (and their bonuses) don't count. An achievement can't be bought. "Rebuild" requires dropping under 100 tokens, then climbing back over 10,000; the daily bonus gets you there without buying anything. "Always there" and "Road regular" count your longest daily bonus streak: 7 and 30 days in a row.
"On the podium" is awarded every Monday to the top three in the previous week's Weekly winnings; the rules are on the leaderboards page.
