Pothole (Nid-de-Poule in French) is a crash game designed by SVRNG Play. The mechanic is the one you know from Chicken Road and other crash games: progress one tile at a time, a multiplier that rises with every step, and a hidden trap that ends the round. Here the tile is a kilometre of street, the pawn is a little blue car, and the trap is the pothole.
The difference from a casino game: you play with virtual tokens. They are not bought in the hope of selling them back, and they never convert to money. The fun is the climbing multiplier, the weekly leaderboard and your own record to beat.

At the start of each round you pick a route. The lower the chance of clearing a kilometre, the faster the multiplier climbs — and the shorter the trip.

The pothole's position is drawn on the server before your first kilometre. The game shows you the SHA-256 fingerprint of the secret key when the round starts, then reveals the key at the end, so you can check the result never changed mid-drive. Neither your tapping rhythm nor your balance affects the draw.
Pothole season is our fifth season: after the snow, before the asphalt. The game's routes are called Country road, City street and Expressway; the car dodges orange cones; and when it cracks, it cracks like Papineau Avenue in April.
