No app, no APK: your browser is enough. Here's how to put it on your home screen and what to know about data and sound.
Pothole runs in your phone's browser: Safari on iPhone, Chrome, Firefox or Samsung Internet on Android. Open svrngplay.ca/en/pothole/, log in, and the road appears. The game was designed for phones first: tap the road to move one km, cash out with the big button at the bottom.
There's no Pothole app on the App Store or Google Play yet: iOS and Android apps are planned, and they'll be announced here and on the updates page. If you see an APK file or a "Pothole app" somewhere else, it isn't ours: don't install a file from an unknown source on your phone. Same goes for apps claiming to predict a crash game: see why predictors don't work.
You can create an icon that opens the game like an app, without going through an app store.
| Phone | Steps |
|---|---|
| iPhone (Safari) | Open svrngplay.ca/en/pothole/, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), then "Add to Home Screen". |
| Android (Chrome) | Open svrngplay.ca/en/pothole/, tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then "Add to Home screen". |
| Android (Samsung Internet) | Tap the ☰ menu, then "Add page to" and "Home screen". |
On iPhone, the game opens full screen from the icon, without the address bar. Menu names can vary slightly with your phone's version.
Your balance, tier, achievements and leaderboard spot are kept on the server, not on the phone. You can start on your phone and carry on at a computer with the same account. A session stays open for 30 days on a device; after that you're asked for your password again.
Only your settings (stake, chosen road, sound) are remembered by the browser. If you clear your browser data they go back to the defaults, but you don't lose a single token.
The first load downloads the game's images and sounds. After that, each km exchanges only a small message with the server: a round uses very little data, on Wi-Fi or mobile. You do need to be online, though: every km is drawn by the server, so the game doesn't work offline. If your connection drops during a round, the round stays open and you pick it up when you're back.
The game has sound effects (engine, pothole, coins). Mobile browsers block sound until you touch the screen, so it starts with your first tap. To turn it off, open the menu: a slider sets the volume, and "Sound" can also be switched off in My account. On iPhone, the phone's silent switch can also mute the browser. On Android, the phone vibrates lightly at some moments in the game.
You need an account and to be 18 (Québec, Alberta, Manitoba) or 19 (elsewhere in Canada). Tokens have no value and are never withdrawn. For the basics, read how to play.
Free account, 10,000 welcome tokens, then a daily bonus that grows with your streak (1,000 to 3,500).
Virtual tokens, never convertible to money · 18+ (19+ in some provinces)
Not yet: iOS and Android apps are planned. Meanwhile, the game runs in the browser, and you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.
No. SVRNG Play doesn't distribute any APK. Don't install files from unknown sources.
No. Every km is drawn by the server, so you need a connection, but a round uses very little data.
